Liz Lees
Registered Dietitian & Certified Gastrointestinal Nutritionist
Liz Lees is a Registered Dietitian & Certified Gastrointestinal Nutritionist with over 10 years of clinical experience treating eating disorders for adolescents and adults in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She provides evidence-based nutrition counseling and loves to work alongside her clients to balance the complexities that accompany their eating disorders. Liz values the opportunity to play such a pivotal role on this very personal and often difficult journey of healing and recovery.
After earning her Bachelor of Science with a Concentration in Dietetics from Arizona State University (ASU), she went on to complete a dual dietetic internship with a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University. Liz began her career with a focus on GI Nutrition and Digestive Health Issues. In 2022 she received additional training to become a Certified Gastrointestinal Nutritionist (GCN). Liz was lead to working with eating disorders by combining this work with her passion for mental health.Â
As a weight inclusive provider, Liz strives to make all of her clients feel welcome. She really understands that as a new client you might feel unsure or maybe even intimidated about meeting with an eating disorder dietitian. You certainly aren’t alone, as so many clients feel this way in the beginning. Liz is committed to creating a supportive and safe environment by first spending the time to get to know you and understand what you need so she can best tailor her approach in helping you reach your nutritional goals.Â
Liz is passionate about listening to and supporting her clients’ unique needs towards recovery and overall well being. In time, she can help you to find peace and even enjoyment in food again.

What Is A Certified Gastrointestinal Nutritionist (CGN)?
A CGN has true expertise, effectiveness, and confidence in supporting clients with GI issues such as IBS, dysbiosis, candida, h.pylori, parasites, Celiac, Crohns/UC, POTS, and so on. With this additional training Liz is able to offer her clients so many more resources such as ordering and interpreting lab work and various GI diagnostic tests. With this information, Liz can do a deeper dive into the overall assessment of your gastrointestinal health and how that impacts coexisting medical conditions and your physical and mental wellbeing. The combination of eating disorder/disordered eating behaviors and GI health can be a tricky combination as most traditional meal plans that “treat” a GI condition can often be quite restrictive and present more harm than benefit in the eating disorder population. With this in mind, Liz strives to work from an approach of inclusion rather than exclusion of dietary components to support a positive relationship with food.
