Chris Herrera, has been working in the mental health field for over a decade, with a focus on trauma, addiction, and relational healing. Her clinical background includes experience in both residential and outpatient settings, where she has supported children, adolescents, adults, and families through a wide range of challenges. Chris began her career as a behavioral health technician and has since grown into her role as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
She has an MA in Mental Health Counseling and Forensic Psychology and has advanced training in several trauma-focused modalities. Chris is trained in EMDR, Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has been trained in Pia Mellody’s, model PIT, which deepens her work with individuals struggling with relational trauma, emotional dysregulation, and developmental wounds.
Chris is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative space for clients to reconnect with themselves and move toward healing. She works with individuals experiencing eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, and identity concerns, and uses trauma focused CBT techniques in her work. Chris approaches therapy with compassion and curiosity, walking alongside each client on their path to growth.
