*Y’all it’s spooky season*
Personally, one of my favorite times of the year. I know I know, insert joke here about how Winter’s favorite season is fall. Although the Arizona climate does not bless us with significantly cooler weather, I love not melting in 120 degree heat!
With fall, comes Halloween, one of my favorite holidays.
Dressing up and becoming green goblin or your favorite Disney character for the eve while collecting an enormous candy stash- sign me up!
Playing dress up and being someone other than ourselves presents us with a unique perspective, taking on that different persona.
My question to you is- how often do you feel you play dress up on a daily basis? Do you feel you have to hide parts of yourselves from others to portray a version of yourself you think they will find acceptable? Do you feel you are a chameleon, constantly changing to the anticipated needs and wants of others around you? Is putting everyone before yourself a reflex?
If this mask fits you, I want to validate how exhausting that can be at times. While extremely adaptive, people pleasing becomes a trap. We feel we can’t truly connect with our authentic selves and begin to abandon the parts of ourselves we perhaps feel shame about.
What would it look like to be fearlessly, authentically you?
Here at Sinnergy, we celebrate authenticity and would love to assist you with finding your true self!
Come follow us on our social media pages, including Instagram and Facebook @sinnergywellness where we talk more about these every day struggles and challenges that we face.
It can be intimidating and vulnerable to drop the mask. Let us help you practice in a safe environment!
Wishing you all a Happy Halloween!
