Body Image struggles look different inside and out
From young to old
From male to female.
Body Image isn’t always about “wanting the smaller body”
Body image comes in many voices.
We want to love our body but the world says to change it.
We want to play a sport but people say you have to be a certain “size” for it.
We want to enjoy being in our skin, but if it’s not the right “color” you don’t get accepted.
We want to enjoy our bodies but people take that from us.
Society has a way to change our perspective of our true identity.
Society has a way to get inside our heads to tell us we are not enough.
Society plants these seeds and they grow and consume us.
It’s okay to have days where you don’t enjoy your body.
It’s okay to have days where you feel empowered by it.
It’s okay to have days where you ask for support.
And it’s okay to have days when you have no thoughts about your body.
The power behind loving and accepting our bodies the way they are created
Is the most challenging and the most courageous thing we can do for ourselves.
Love yourself instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.
Work towards enjoying the functions your bodies does for you
Instead of the physical image it makes people pursue in you.
